Cazenovia is located in Madison County 14 miles SE of Syracuse between Pompey Center and Peterboro along Highway 20. On the south end of Cazenovia Lake.
Cazenovia is in the Central Region area of the state and is part of the Syracuse, New York metro area.
During early days of the settlement, two brothers named Bumpus fought a bear near here, in Chittenango Creek. They avoided serious injury by stuffing the bear's mouth with stones.
