Founded in 1754 as Kings College, this university includes Columbia College, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, several graduate and professional schools and is affiliated with Teachers College and Barnard College for women. Guided tours are available Monday through Friday at 11am and 2pm.
Among the many famous faculty members at Columbia was John Dewey, who was a professor from 1904 to 1930.
