East Hampton is located in Suffolk County on the eastern edge of Long Island between Amagansett and Bridgehampton along Highway 27. It is in the Southern Region of the state. This section of Long Island's south shore has many fashionable summer colonies and estates. The Clinton Academy, the first chartered academy in the state, has changing local history exhibits. The Mulford Farmhouse, across the village green from Hwy 27 offers decorative arts exhibits, information about East Hampton's architectural styles and costumed interpreters. East Hampton is part of the Nassau-Suffolk, New York metro area.
