Flushing New York

Flushing is located in Queens County on I-678 in the Southern Region of the state.

Flushing is part of the New York, New York metro area.

Flushing was the site of an early stand for religious tolerance; residents in 1657 defied Gov. Peter Stuyvesant's order to shun Quakers.

The 1939 and 1964 World's Fairs occurred here and the film "8MM" was filmed here.
