Goshen is located in Orange County 45 miles NW of the greater New York area between Middletown and Harriman along Highway 17/207 and in the Southern Region of the state. The Goshen Public Library contains the signatures of Alexander Hamilton and Benedict Arnold among its historical artifacts. The collection and a genealogical library are available by appointment only. The historic Goshen Track is one of the oldest harness racetracks in the United States and the sporting world's first national historic landmark. Goshen is part of the Newburgh, New York-Pennsylvania metro area.
