Greece is located in Monroe County on the NW edge of Rochester along Highway 104 near Lake Ontario and is in the Western Region of the state. Greece is part of the Rochester, New York metro area.
It is named after the European country, in sympathy with the revolution of 1821. No. 5 safest city, Morgan Quitno Press, November 1999.
