Greenwich is located in Washington County 18 miles east of Saratoga Springs between Coila and Middle Falls along Highway 372 on the banks of the Batten Kill River near the Vermont state line. It is in the Northern Region of the state and is part of the Glens Falls, New York metro area.
It was named after Greenwich, England. Well-known residents have included: Grandma Moses, painter.
