Lockport

Lockport is located in Niagara County 20 miles NE of Niagara Falls along Highway 31/78 near Lake Ontario in the Western Regionof the state. Lockport derived its name from the locks that overcome the difference in elevation along the Niagara Escarpment. The town also boasts one of the widest bridges in the world, located downtown within walking distance from the locks. The Canal Museum displays canal construction photographs and other canal memorabilia. Lockport is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls, New Yorkmetro area.
