Long Island on Highway 27 near Rockville Center in the
Southern Region of the state.
Lynbrook is part of the Nassau-Suffolk, New York metro area.
Its name was derived by swapping the two syllables of Brooklyn. Well-known residents have included: Bob Keeshan, actor ("Captain Kangaroo") and Whittaker Chambers, editor and former spy whose testimony led to the perjury conviction of Alger Hiss.
