Malone is located in
Franklin County 40 miles NE of Potsdam between Burke Center and North Bangor along Highway 11 on the banks of the Salmon River near the Canadian border in the
Northern Region of the state.
Its name derived from Edmund Malone the Shakespearean scholar.
