In operation for over 100 years, the New York United Hospital Medical Center has evolved from a tiny 2 bed facility over a dry goods store to a comprehensive acute care hospital. In addition it has a skilled nursing pavilion, adult day care, outreach programs, emergency and urgent care services as well as diagnostic/treatment and rehabilitation departments.
United's surgeons perform over 7000 procedures each year. It delivered 950 babies in 1998.
Since 1993, United Hospital Medical Center has been an affiliate of the prestigious NY Hospital Cornell Medical Center. In recent months, with the joining of NY Hospital and the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital - United has become a part of the largest Medical Network in the country.
