Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a voluntary not-for-profit teaching institution. Established by the Plattdeutsche Volkvest Verein, an organization of German immigrants, the Medical Center -- then known as the "German Hospital of Brooklyn" -- began operations in 1889.
Today, the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center has approximately 509,000 square feet and includes 324 general care beds and 26 newborn bassinets. Services provided include a 24-hour Emergency Department with a separate, dedicated Pediatrics Emergency Service; 24-hour Laboratory services; Radiology services including CT, mammography, ultrasound, Rehabilitation Medicine and Physical Therapy; Pain Management; Cardiac diagnostic services, including stress testing and echocardiography; Oncology, including Bone Marrow and Stem Cell transplantation; Radiation Oncology services; Neurosurgery; Endoscopy testing and treatment services; Bone Densitometry; and Molecular Medicine and Genetics.
