North Shore University Hospital at
Plainview is an acute care community hospital with 239 beds. The hospital treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric and gynecological conditions. "Suite Beginnings" offers LDRPs, or labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum suites, which makes the entire birth experience more personal and comfortable for the entire family. North Shore at Plainview has an active same-day surgery program, and an extremely busy Emergency Department, which is a designated Level II Trauma Center featuring a Chest Pain Emergency Room. The latter is a separate area where patients with cardiac complaints are immediately assessed. This hospital is also the site of one of the Don Monti Cancer Centers.
