Interfaith Medical Center is a multi-site health care institution which provides a wide range of medical, surgical, obstetric, gynecological, dental, psychiatric, pediatric and other services, including an extensive ambulatory care network. Other special services include a 24-hour Psychiatric Emergency Room, the Center for Mental Health, Mobile Crisis Intervention and the Special Treatment Unit for People with AIDS. Interfaith has emergency rooms at both hospitals where the staff responds promptly to the needs of more than 52,000 of the residents of the Crown Heights and Bedford/Stuyvesant Communities. The units are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 911-certification and are designated American Heart Association Heart Stations.
