The university awards advanced degrees to students who are preparing for careers in medicine, science and the health professions. There are 1,660 students enrolled--760 in the School of Medicine (M.D. degree), 650 in the School of Public Health (doctorate degrees, master of public health and master of science degrees) and 250 in the Graduate School of Basic Medical Sciences (doctorate and master of science degrees).
