Old Westbury is located in
Nassau County in the
Southern Region of the state and is part of the
Nassau-Suffolk, New York metropolitan area.
It was named after a town in Wiltshire, England. Wealthy New Yorkers began building estates here in the late 1800s and Old Westbury was ranked No. 27 in Worth magazine's list of 250 Richest Towns, June 2001.
