Pomona is located in Rockland County between Montebello and Mt Ivy on Highway 202 near Harriman State Park in the Southern Region of the state. Pomona is part of the New York, New York metro area. Pomona was named for the Roman goddess of fruit. Frederick Lowe and Alan Jay Lerner wrote "My Fair Lady" here at Lerner's home here.
