Merrick Rod And Gun Club was founded in 1939 on the South Shore of Long Island. It is a social fraternity for fisherman, hunters, or just outdoor sportsmen in general. As for the fishing aspect of the club, it charters boats from Freeport to Mattituck to Orient Point and Montauk, targeting all species of fish that call Long Island waters home. By participating on overnight trips to Eldridge Preserve in the Catskills, it conducts fresh water fishing, skeet shooting and all the outdoor activities you can muster.
