New York State between Forsyth and State Line along Highway 20 in the
Western Region of the state. It was named after Gen. Eleazur W. Ripley and used to be known as the "Marriage Capital of the World," because New York state did not require a waiting period before marriage. The town justice was on call 24 hours a day to perform ceremonies.
