Rockville Centre is located in
Nassau County on
Long Island, between
Freeport and Lynbrook, along Hwy 27 and in the
Southern Region of the state. The city was named after Mordecai Rock Smith, a Methdist preacher whose father operated a local mill. Rockville Centre was also home of 19th-century sea captains.
