Rye New York |
Rye is located in Westchester County between Harrison and Port Chester on Hwy 1 in the Southern Region of the state.
Rye is part of the New York, New York metro area.
The Rye-Oyster Bay ferry began service in 1739. The community later became a stop on the New York-Boston stagecoach line. It develeped as a summer resort in the 19th century. After World War I, Rye became a commuters' suburb.
