Schuylerville is located in
Saratoga County between Saratoga Springs and Greenwich along Highway 29 in the
Central Region of the state.
Schuylerville is part of the Albany-Schenectady-Troy, New York metro area.
It was named for Revolutionary War Gen. Philip Schuyler. The original settlement, known as Saratoga, was destroyed by Indians in 1745 but it grew with the opening of the Champlain Canal.
