The current St. Peter's Church is the third. The first, built in 1715, was replaced by a second edifice in 1802. The current church was built in 1859. Today's Church, a classic example of Gothic architecture, is listed in the National Registry of Historic Landmarks. The church features stained glass windows, floor mosaics and a facsimile of the Queen Anne silver presented in 1712. Organ recitals are offered weekly.
