The museum's collections include almost 18,000 objects and over 100,000 photographs reflecting Tompkins County history and culture. The object and visual collections are complemented by a research library of 4,000 volumes, 900 linear feet of documents, and 1,200 maps. The seasonal displays exhibited emphasize local industries, the arts and various ethnic groups. A reference room is open three days a week for public use.
