Fredericktown is located in central Ohio in Knox County 45 miles northeast of Columbus and 10 miles northwest of Mt. Vernon. Knox Lake is the focal point for outdoor recreation and is located just northeast of town. In addition, the Kokosing River is just about a mile south of the city limits.
