Lisbon is located in northeastern Columbiana County (of which it is the county seat) east of Canton. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 2,953, a decrease of 84 since 1990.One interesting facet about the town's location its proximity to six covered bridges of bygone eras, either near town or within easy driving distance. Nearby outdoor recreation includes trips to Beaver Creek State Park about 10 miles to the southeast and Yellow Creek Forest just over 10 miles south of town. Those seeking to shoot a round of golf can take on Beaver Creek Meadows Golf Course, a public 18-hole facility which offers a regulation 18 as well as a 9-hole par 3 course and Twin Springs Golf Course, a public 9-hole layout.
