Norwich is located in east central Ohio in
Muskingum County about 60 miles east of
Columbus along
I-70 between
Zanesville and
Cambridge. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 134, an increase of 1 since 1990.
The National Road-Zane Grey Museum, portraying life from the late 1800s to the 1950s (when the Interstate System was being developed). Grey, born in Zanesville and a grandson of the town's Founding Father, Ebenezer Zane, is noted as a prolific and popular author of novels about the American West. One of his most-recognized works was Riders of the Purple Sage.
Recreation can be found at Dillon Lake and Dillon State Park about 20 miles to the west as well as Salt Fork Lake and Salt Fork State Park about the same northeast of town.
