Tappan Lake is located in Harrison County about 10 miles northwest of Cadiz, the county seat.The 2,350-acre impound is the centerpiece for Lake Pappan Park, a 5,000-acre recreation area featuring over 500 campsites (class A full hookups and class A with electric), swimming beach, concession stand, vacation cabins, camper cabins, Activity Center, nature center, laundry, camp store, playground and numerous special events including a Horseshoe Tournament and Craft Show in May, a youth basketball camp in June and a Beach Party and Ski Show in August. Other features include a full-service marina and restaurant. A trail connects the park with the Tappan Wetlands, which has been designated as a "watchable wildlife area."
