The beautiful entrance wall of Mt. Echo Park was built by the Federal Works Project Administration in 1939. The pavilion, one of the finest structures of the city park system, stands 825 feet above sea level with columns that support a series of arches. Below the pavilion is the overlook with its magnificent view of Kentucky and the ‘S’ bend in the Ohio River. Renovations included walkways, benches, and an ornamental iron fence to add to the lovely setting high above the river. Two open picnic shelters, picnic tables, grills and children's play equipment are also seen.
