The Lake of the Arbuckles is located southwest of
Sulphur in southern Oklahoma east of
Interstate 35 in
Murray County and is the anchor for the
Chickasaw National Recreation Area. The 2,400-acre lake has over 35 miles of shoreline and has 3 main developed areas that provide campsites, restrooms, drinking water and picnic areas.
The lake is noted for its bluegill, catfish, crappie, largemouth bass and white bass. Fishing is permitted year round. Wild game include deer, quail, rabbit, squirrel and wild turkey, in season.
