Kansas Public Library, serving an area of 690 residents, has a collection of 11,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 80 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as 220 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Internet terminals are available for use by the general public. Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $1,760. Patrons make 4,000 visits annually, and check out materials 7,200 times. Thirty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

Malad Valley Welsh Festival Malad City ID June28-July1 Today, Malad Valley has the largest per capita concentration of people of Welsh ancestry outside the country of Wales itself. For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality. Portneuf Greenway Foundation RiverFest Pocatello ID August17-September17 This is a one day festival which features local and regional bands. This year's headliner band is The Clumsy Lovers. We also have craft booths, commercial booths and lots of great food. There will be a horseshoe tournament as well as our famous raffle.
