Visitors register at the Visitors' Centre where bilingual tour guides provide a brief introduction to AECL and CRL. The tour guides then escort visitors on a one and a half hour tour of the site. Depending on availability, the tour can include a visit to the NRU research reactor, an elevated look at the Universal Hot Cells, where researchers use remotely-controlled arms to perform experiments, and/or a visit to a quarter-scale version of a CANDU reactor.
