Fort Wellington was built in 1812 to defend the St. Lawrence River route during the War of 1812. The fort was abandoned shortly thereafter. Three original structures have been restored and furnished to the 1846 period. A center is on the grounds with interpreters demonstrating military tactics typical of that time period.
