Caffe Italia first opened its doors in the mid 1950’s, serving as a billiard and card-laying social club for the Preston Street community. In 1980 the establishment was enlarged to accommodate the present-day dining room and trattoria was added to its name. Recent renovations have again increased dining and serving space somewhat, but the original restaurant’s ambience has been carefully preserved. Softly-lit and traditionally furnished, Trattoria Italia dining lounge and café appeals not only through its old country charm, but because of its unique soups, special home cooked pastas, tender veal delicacies and tasty pastries as well as for having the best darned cappuccino west of Bagnara.
