Set amidst ornamental terraced gardens in downtown Hamilton, Whitehern is a National Historic Site and preserved former home of three generations of the McQuesten family from 1852 until 1968. As an educational destination the museum presents an opportunity for students to experience an outstanding elegant intact urban period home complete with family belongings, furnishings and gardens. Through a variety of interactive and cross-curricular programmes students will gain an understanding of many aspects of their contemporary world which impact directly upon their own lives in a very real and tangible way.
