Battle Mountain Forest State Scenic Corridor, located on U.S. 395 north of Ukiah, was purchased to protect the forests of ponderosa pine, larch, Douglas fir, and spruce trees. The area provides excellent habitat for a wide variety of wildlife and wildflowers. The name signifies one of the last battles between Native Americans and settlers in eastern Oregon, which took place near the park.
