The vineyard was established in 1977 and is one of the earliest vineyards planted in the Eola Hills, an indepedent hill chain rising from one of Oregon's protected interior valleys. Located on south-facing mid-level slopes, Bethel Heights has all the classic features of an outstanding site: abundant heat, optimum solar exposure, and shallow, well-drained soils of volcanic origin. The mature fifty-one acre vineyard is planted primarily in Pinot noir and Chardonnay, with smaller acreages of Pinot blanc and Pinot gris.
