Check out Cleawox Lake for hooded mergansers, wood ducks and ringed-neck ducks. Easily accessible on the west side of Highway 101 with trails around part of the lake.

On the east side of the highway, check out Woahink lake and look for Canada geese much of the year.

Stop by Siltcoos Lake for wintering ducks. Sometimes rafts of thousands of coots can be seen here, as well as at the Tahkenitch Boat Ramp further south. Hike the Lagoon Trail. Cinnamon teal are often seen here in winter. Wax Myrtle Trail leads to the beach and possibly some snowy plovers. Watch for songbirds along the trail.

Further south at the Bolon Island Boat Ramp, look for herons and egrets.
