Dutch Oven

Location: About 6 mi. S of Cougar Lake off South Fork Road. Either way you go you will have a scenic drive. Both routes are closed on the Aufderheide National Scenic Byway in the winter.

The northern route from Eugene begins on Highway 126 East. Turn south onto the Aufderheide National Scenic Byway passing Cougar Lake. Go about six miles past the lake.

The southern route, starting from Eugene, follows Highway 58 to Westfir, (A few miles before Oakridge), where you catch the southern end of the Aufderheide National Scenic Byway. This route follows the Middle Fork of the Willamette River to the Dutch Oven site.

This day use area has water, toilets and picnic tables. Activities include picnicing, fishing and hiking.
