Flippin, early day "gypo" logger and sawmill owner. His family lived in sawmill shacks, crude houses built of rough boards, carrying water and wood. The Flippins prospered and before long commissioned Markwell & Sons to build the Castle. It was lovingly restored 81 years later under its fifth owner in a manner as near as possible to its original state.
