Forest Grove is located west of Portland, between Cornelius and Gaston along Hwy 47 near the Tualatin River. The town's founders aptly named this town in western Washington County for the surrounding white oak and fir forest. Pacific University, situated in Forest Grove, is one of the oldest academic institutions in the Northwest.

Popular attractions include: Concours d'Elegance (premier vintage car show), Fernhill Wetlands, Henry Hagg Lake, Founders' Day Corn Roast, Historic Old Town, Wineries, Barber Shop Quartet Annual Competition and McMenamin's Grand Lodge Art Collection in March.

There is also a Forest Grove, British Columbia.

Forest Grove is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.
