Fort Rock

Fort Rock is located in Lake County, between Silver Lake and La Pine along Hwy 31. The Deschutes National Forest is situated just the west of town, with sister city Christmas Valley to the southeast.

This community, named for the nearby geological feature of the same name, has a post office that dates back to 1908. There was considerable activity in the area during the homesteading period prior to World War I, but most of this has disappeared.
