The Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon is dedicated to providing talented, enthusiastic young musicians with exceptional performance experiences under the leadership of professional conductors and coaches. It fosters a unique musical experience leading to lifelong appreciation of the arts. It has 197 musicians performing in three groups. In addition to its regular concert series, it hosts youth orchestras from Portland, Vancouver, Washington, Oto, Japan, and Melbourne, Australia.
