Government Island State Park

Access to this state recreation area is by boat only. There are two docks and a floating tie-up on the north side of the island, which is in the Columbia River northeast of Portland. Government Island State Recreation Area features 15 miles of shoreline and a free primitive campground. The park is popular with fishermen. Entry to the interior of the island, which contains protected natural areas, is prohibited.
