Grande Ronde River

An important river of northeast Oregon, the Grande Ronde has its origins in the Blue Mountains in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in Union County. It flows through La Grande and meanders through the Grande Ronde Valley, heading north past Elgin. About 20 miles beyond Elgin, it is joined by the Wallowa River and continues its flow north and east into Washington, where it eventually joins the Snake River.
