Hammond is at the very northwest corner of Oregon, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Columbia River. This small town is west of Astoria between Warrenton and the Fort Stevens State Park, located at the junction of 7th Ave. and Lake Dr.There is also a Hammond, Louisiana. Hammond was named for pioneer Andrew H. Hammond. This was also the filming location for the 1993 movie, "Free Willy."
