Situated on a ridge overlooking the Oregon Zoo, this 175-acre aboretum displays more than 900 species of shrubs and trees, including one of the nation's largest conifer collections. The arboretum was named in honor of Ralph Warren Hoyt, Multnomah County Treasurer and County Commissioner. There are 10 miles of trails that wind past hundreds of plants from distant places.
The arboretum includes a visitor center, public garden, educational facility, covered picnic area, hiking trails, and wheelchair accessible restrooms.
Hoyt Arboretum offers a variety of free and low-cost learning experiences on horticulture, botany, and other natural history topics for families, groups, or adults. Guided tours are offered every weekend April through October.
