College of Legal Arts (COLA) was initially founded in 1974 as a Court Reporting Institute. In 1986 the college changed its name to College of Legal Arts and expanded its curriculum by adding a legal secretarial program. They subsequently added a paralegal/legal assistant program, a medical transcription program and a correctional officer program into the mix.

The College is located in Portland, and total enrollment is approximately 120 Multnomah County students.
