The imperial Tombs of China exhibition draws from seven dynasties (475 B.C. to 1912 A.D.) and features more then 250 objects excavated from the tombs of China's most prominent emperors and ancient rulers. The objects were selected from the holdings of 18 museums and cultural centers throughout nine Chinese provinces. Sixty percent of the objects in the exhibition are ranked as national treasures, while typically the Chinese government allows only 20 percent of the objects in a touring exhibition to have this distinction.
Most of these objects have become known only within the last 25 years.
The exhibition will continue through September 15th, 1996.
