The Mazamas were established on the summit of Mt. Hood on July 19, 1894. To join Mazamas, you need to have climbed to the summit of a mountain peak on which there is at least one glacier. Mountaineering, hiking, and rock climbing are the main Mazamas activities. All climbs are open to members and non-members alike. Beginner through advanced classes are offered in mountaineering, rock climbing, ski mountaineering, and more.
